Academic Internship Program

Description

Our Academic Internship Program is designed to place college/ university students within various areas of organizations as student interns for the completion of specific projects, research, or studies.   These internships are unpaid and projects are carefully designed to offer each intern a practical and meaningful internship experience. Participants normally spend 8 16 hours per week at their internship unless noted differently on the project description. Our projects are realistically and reasonably achievable and of interest to the intern (i.e., be consistent with their educational background and internship objectives.

 Who Qualifies?

Junior, senior, or graduate level students who are currently enrolled in good academic standing and will be completing their internships for academic credit at a college/university.

Placement Length

The average volunteer placement is around three months which allows volunteers to establish solid relationships in the community and contribute a reasonable amount of time to the projects. It is important to recognize that, although the volunteers will benefit enormously from their experience volunteering.

Program Coordination

It is very important to maintain consistency and continuity in relationships, projects and work already underway and, to this end, we have a Volunteer Projects Manager who is responsible for all volunteers.
